October is always such a beautiful month in Northeast Oklahoma with the color changes in the trees. Cindy took me on a drive through a private reserve near here. We did not see any of the elk or deer in the reserve but it was a beautiful day and we enjoyed the ride. Another favorite thing about October is Halloween. My church always has “Trunk – N - Treat”. Church members bring their cars to the parking lot and open our trunks and pass out candy to the kids. Some people have little games that the kids have to play in order to get the candy. It is a fun and safe way for kids to go trick-or-treating. Susan drove me there, helped me get my “trunk” all ready and helped pass out the candy. We had 1540 people come to our Trunk – N – Treat. How do you like my witch's hat? Thanks to Pauletta.

Another October treat is caramel apples. Samantha's school was selling caramel apples for a fundraiser. Ken bought one for me, and mailed it to me. Mmm-m, it was so good. Thank you, Samantha.

Alan Garcia is my new workout therapist. He is a student at Northeastern State University and he lives in one of my apartments. Medicare will not pay for more outpatient physical therapy treatment for me at this time. Alan is not a trained therapist but he agreed to work out with me and I told him what needed to be done. After a couple of weeks I took him to see Lecil Harper who had been my therapist before. He showed Alan some PT techniques and reassured him that he was doing my exercises and my slide board transfers correctly. After watching Lecil, Alan realized he had been too easy on me. So now he is really making up for it and he is making me work a lot harder.

So my life goes on. I feel like I'm at a plateau, and I can’t tell I'm making much progress but I keep trying. I have been feeling really good, no sign of UTI for a while. So please keep up your prayers for me. I love you all.
Beverly

  5. Boy, my brain must be really failing since it's taken me a month of Sundays to figure out how to finally get on to your blog. Well worth it and I love seeing pictures of all the outings you have been describing to me weekly. Keep pumping your way here and I'll call you tomorrow. Hugs, Moo-Maid Margarita
