I think I am finally on the road to recovery. That C-diff colitis really knocked me for a loop! I spent three weeks in the hospital getting it under control and am so happy that Pauletta was here to help the time pass and to find humor in each day. I think it's under control now. But my doctor suggests I stay on the medicine for six months. (And Medicare won’t pay for the medicine since it is “compounded”. Who can understand that!)
Now that school is back in session we will begin our Wednesday night Children's Program at my church. I was going to tell the director of Children’s Ministries that I wouldn't do it this year, but then I was reminded what good therapy is for me. And I do enjoy being with the kids every week.
Yesterday I had a nice treat. Two longtime BFF’s came over and took me out to lunch. We met in Wagoner in 1954, just after my family moved there when Daddy was called to be the pastor of First Baptist Church in Wagoner. Thanks Kay and Lynda. I had a great time.
My next big trip will be back to Chicago for a six month checkup after my bladder surgery. Janie will fly here and drive me in my van in Chicago. We will spend a couple extra days with Pauletta. While I'm gone Leonard will take the opportunity to take off a couple of days and go fishing in Arkansas.
I try to stay busy with exercising on my Motomed, with reading on my Nook, with church activities, with PEO, with my book club. But I still have plenty of hours that I would love to fill with visits from friends who live nearby. Leonard can give you a quick demonstration on how to help me get in my van so we can also go out to lunch, dinner or a movie. Call me and let’s get together!
SOOOO happy you had some new visitors checking on sweet Deedy! Glad you are getting back in the groove with your Wed. night program, I know the kiddos love your teachings and all the love you give them! Will see you again SOON!!
