This past month has been a very busy month and has gone by so quickly. Janie came on October 1, she had planned to come the 14th but mom had been sick so she came earlier. Mom had had a urinary tract infection which seems to exacerbate her dementia and she didn't seem to be getting over it and I was getting worried about her but by the time Janie arrived she seemed to be getting back to her usual self and she seems fine now. So I put Janie to work going through my closets And Putting Things out for Goodwill.
On October 14th. Janie and I left for Chicago. My appointment for my six month checkup was on the 17th. My doctor said everything looked good. Janie and I had a couple more days with Pauletta and Steve. We had dinner with their friends Harry and Debra, who have become my friends over the past couple of years. Another night, Steve's brother and sister came over for dinner. I was so happy we were able to spend some time with them too.
We were home for one day when my good friends Sue and Kathi from California came for a visit. We went to Branson for three days and had a terrific time. We didn't go to any shows. We didn't go to Silver Dollar City. But we had the best time just relaxing in our cabin, reading and playing cards. Janie brought her mahjong set, and we played that. We rented a three-bedroom, wheelchair accessible cabin.
Now, everyone's gone and I am back to my normal routine. But today I had a nice surprise. One of my very good friends from high school, Christine Sunday, called. She lives in Idaho and is in town for her mother’s 97th birthday celebration. I was so happy when she called and asked if she could come by. We had a very nice visit.

Your visit this time was way too short! We loved having you and Janie. Next time I promise better weather! Can't wait to see you again,

So happy to hear that you are doing well and enjoyed your trip to Branson. Just relaxing at the cabin would be exactly what I would do while there, forget the busy streets, long lines at the shows and the busy streets of Silver $ City! Your mother looks good and so does Janie! But you look fabulous, love the bk/orange gloves! Will see you soon dear friend, take care when the weather turns colder! love you, Beverly C.
ReplyDeleteHarry and I can't wait until you come back....with the "bat out of h..." sister driver that you are lucky to have! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Love you, Debra
ReplyDeleteDeedy, I am so grateful that you get to get out and have huge adventures! Love you, Alison
