Thanks to all of you who sent happy birthday wishes to Beverly! She celebrated her actual birthday on Tuesday June 9th with the volunteers of "RSVP" at a recognition banquet in Muskogee. She appreciated the song and well wishes, and thanks her friends Cindy and Norma for driving her there.

Cindy and Norma have learned how to help get Beverly into her van and get her secured with all the straps and clamps that hold her chair in place. This is allowing Beverly to get out more and to get back some of her busy social life she had before her accident. In fact, Cindy, Norma and Etter and taking her out to dinner and to a movie tonight. There's nothing like great friends!

Beverly, Chris and Janie are getting excited (and maybe a little bit nervous!) about the upcoming trip to California next week. Beverly has been looking forward to her grandson's high school graduation and was afraid she wouldn't be able to attend after she had her accident. But her three pushy sisters kept insisting that she could do anything she really wanted to do. So we found airline tickets that will not require changing planes and we leave early Thursday, June 18th. The plane stops in Phoenix so Janie will join Beverly and Chris for the remaining portion of the flight to Oakland. We also were able to find a company that rents handicap-accessible vans much like Beverly's van. Ken will pick up the van in time to meet us at the airport. He has arranged for a suite at a hotel near his home. Thursday afternoon and Friday we plan to stay in the suite and visit with Ken, Nelly, Christopher and Samantha, as well as other friends of Beverly who know she will be in town.
Then on Friday at 7:00pm we will all attend Christopher's High School Graduation! Saturday morning our flight leaves San Francisco airport at an early 7:15am, stops in Phoenix where Janie leaves us, and arrives in Tulsa around 2:00pm. YES - this is a quick trip but since it is Beverly's first venture of this kind, we thought we should keep it short. Many thanks to Pauletta and Ken for helping put this trip together. We'll let you know how it goes when you check the website again!

Thanks for your continued interest and your prayers for Beverly's recovery.
