Update prepared by Beverly's niece, Susan Littlejohn.

Hello All. I wanted to write to everyone and let you know about my time with Aunt Deedy (Beverly) last Friday. After eating tacos, I helped her get into her new "cycle machine." It is an exercise machine that she can pull right up to and she can either exercise her arms or exercise her legs, or both at the same time. After getting her feet strapped into the foot pedals.....off she went for a full 20 minutes! At times she was doing all of the work, using her arms to push her legs up and down and then switching back to the machine assisted, but she kept pushing on!

After leaving her home, I was overcome with tears at how far she has come. To think that 1 year and 4 months ago we all did not even know if she would make it past the respirator phase. Now look her! She has flown to see Christopher graduate, goes to church every Sunday, teaches classes for children at church, goes to her book club every month...not to mention all she has accomplished at home! She answers the phone, emails, helps in the kitchen, holds Deacon, and other unmentionables :).......and now her cycle machine! I am so proud of her, and of all of us, for being there for her in our own unique ways. She is the strongest person and I believe getting stronger everyday! She is now preparing for a wonderful adventure that I can't wait to hear about when she returns.......
