Pauletta and Steve arrived on Sunday, April 5 to give Chris some much needed and well deserved time "off". The week has flown by, and we have been having fun interspersed with "work" on the home mat and at physical therapy. Pauletta was encouraged by the improvement in Beverly's strength in her upper body and is working hard to maintain it. Thursday we enjoyed having Beverly's book club meeting at her house. They brought dinner, we laughed and talked, and even discussed their book for at least a few minutes. Janie is resting up for her next visit, and she and Gary just spent a few days in San Antonio for some R & R.
Twice during the week we visited Mom and both times she seemed to be doing just great. Pauletta's granddaughter Sarah spent the night on Thursday and was a big help with her "Aunt Deedy". Steve decided that Beverly's yard could use some sprucing up, so has been busy pulling weeds and planting annuals in the flower bed, mowing and fertilizing. Leonard has been working on the apartment renovation, while nursing a very sore knee, and also helping Steve in the yard. On Saturday night Leonard treated us to delicious steaks cooked on the grill, baked potatoes and his own special secret recipe Caesar salad. Beverly loved it and "cleaned her plate".
Beverly is so excited for her son Ken and his family to arrive Easter Sunday! We have some outings planned next week, like a tour of the azaleas at Honor Heights Park in Muskogee (to coincide with a appointment with her Rehab doctor in Muskogee.). She is also excited about some other upcoming visits from out-of-town friends!
Thanks for checking in and thanks for the delicious meals. We don't know how we would cope without your assistance, love, concern and prayers.
Beverly sends you her love and thanks.
