We forgot to mention in the last update that we went to Muskogee to celebrate Pauletta and Steve's wedding anniversary. Steve had driven to Muskogee earlier in the day to check out the proposed restaurant (Miss Addie's) to ensure that it was easily accessible. The four of us (Beverly, Pauletta, Steve and Leonard) had a wonderful meal and a fun evening. Beverly was a bit apprehensive to go a "nice restaurant ", but she did great! All of her fears proved unfounded, and It was another milestone in her road to recovery - one she passed with flying colors.
On Sunday, her son Ken, daughter-in-law Nellie, and grandchildren Chris and Samantha arrived from California. Tears escaped her eyes as they walked in the door, and to be honest, we all shed a few tears watching their reunion.
They have had a busy, but wonderful visit and it is impossible for Beverly to keep a smile off her face! They have all been a big help and now realize first hand the big adjustments which have been made in all of our lives.
On Tuesday everyone visited Grandmother Brill, went out to see Chris's house near Lake Tenkiller, and had shaved ices, an Oklahoma tradition for them whenever they visit their Grandma.
Then we had a family pizza party for 14 people....fun! On Thursday, Ken drove them all out to look for blackberries (at a special secret place Susan had suggested). then to Muskogee to see a movie. Ken has mastered the van's loading and unloading procedures, so their outings have been daily!
Beverly is already dreading their departure on Saturday. Thanks to Susan for getting them to and from the Tulsa airport.
More later! Thanks for checking in and for your continued prayers and friendship. And, once again, thank you for the meals! It allows us more time with her, and less in the kitchen!
