The time is flying, and Janie will soon be back from Arizona to care for Beverly! What a busy time we have had! On Sunday, Beverly attended the piano recital of her great-niece Sarah and really enjoyed it. As mentioned in the last update, her good friends Kathi and Sue from California were in town from May 8 until May 13. After the Benefit, they accompanied Beverly to physical therapy, visited Mom, cooked dinner for us, and kept us all entertained. For those of you who do not know, Beverly was a nurse in the San Francisco area from 1973 until 1994. She still has many friends there, and another visitor from California is in town this week. Riki Cavanaugh and Beverly worked together for 20 years at Washington Township Hospital in Fremont, CA. Today both Beverly and Riki attended a P.E.O. meeting at the lovely home of Dicksie Schmidt. These lovely and gracious ladies were thrilled to have Beverly back and are making plans for future meetings at locations to accommodate her power chair! Thank you, Dicksie, and thank you, Ethel Grover, for the delicious carrot cake!
Beverly is continuing therapy twice a week with her wonderful physical therapist, Lecil Harper, and we supplement that with our own mat work at home. We love hearing him say that she is definitely getting stronger! Look at her upright - it is a new and wonderful perspective to look her straight in the eyes! Here she is with Lecil.

On Saturday, three good friends - Norma, Etter and Beverly Cannon - brought a movie, popcorn and snacks. It was much appreciated, as Pauletta was able to spend the evening with her daughter, Susan. On Thursday, Beverly, Leonard, Pauletta and Riki went to Chili's for dinner. Another milestone, which she passed with flying colors!

Beverly is looking forward (with excitement and a little trepidation) to her upcoming trip to California to see her grandson Chris graduate high school. (Sister) Chris is working on the details with the airline and Beverly's son Ken is working out the plans for her locally for an accessible van and hotel. Chris and Beverly will board a flight from Tulsa which makes a stop in Phoenix, and Janie will board the flight there and accompany them on to Oakland. It should be a wonderful, if quick, trip and another new experience for Beverly.

Thanks for checking in!
