During Janie's stay, we made good use of the van by attending two movies and of course attending church a week ago. We've added a few photos on the photo link from that church service when people kept coming to Beverly to give her a special welcome.
If any of Beverly's friends would like to take her on a special outing, feel free to contact us and we'll show you how easy it is to drive the van and to secure her power chair in place. She can go anywhere that is handicap accessible and would love such an outing now that the weather is improving! Beverly still feels cold much of the time (we're been told this is common with a spinal cord injury) so she may be wearing a hat, thanks to Beverly Cannon and Riki Cavanaugh who sent hats to replace Leonard's hunting hat she was wearing. These are much more stylish!
Those of you who know Janie, realize she's not much of a cook and I want to give special thanks for the continued meals! We never expected so many of Beverly's friends to continue to provide meals for such a long time, but especially Beverly and Leonard appreciated it during Janie's stay. Last Wednesday evening the "Kids Worship" group's project was to prepare and deliver the meal to Beverly's house. Well, attendance was down and as it turned out, Chase Worth with the help of his leader, Emily Freize, almost single-handedly prepared one of the best meals we've had: sweet and sour chicken, rice and crunchy goodies for desert. Thank you Chase and Emily!
