Happy Valentines Day! Thanks to all who have sent Valentines Day cards and emails to Beverly!
Chris (and her dog, Nemo) has been with Beverly since Sunday and they have stayed very busy. Beverly rode the very bumpy and rough KATS buses to Physical Therapy on Mon, Wed, and Fri. Only three more trips on public transportation and then Beverly will be able to ride in her own van! Some of the folks who were with Beverly in Baton Rouge are working hard to put on a musical benefit for Beverly on May 9th, 2009, to help cover the cost of the van. More information on the benefit will be posted soon.
Beverly has done well in physical therapy and the therapist has noted her increased arm strength. We have ordered an elevated exercise mat for her home and will be able to continue her therapy at home seven days a week. She is accomplishing more and more on her own and is encouraged by the progress we see every day.
Lake Region Electric Cooperative has made a very generous donation to Beverly's recovery fund. Thanks so much to Cindy Clark and family for telling us about the application process. Beverly also received her handicapped parking permit today, so now we just need the wheel chair accessible van. We are still enjoying the evening meals that people so generously provide. The food is great, and it is such a blessing not to have to worry about preparing dinner at the end of our busy days. (especially for Chris -who doesn't cook!) Beverly's cat, Deacon, is starting to get used to all the new equipment and noise, and is back in his favorite place.
