Time seems to be flying by now and already Janie is turning over daily duties to Chris for two weeks. On Friday, February 6th, Beverly and Janie have a very exhausting day! We were ready for KATS at 9:30am and waited for them to transport us to therapy. After the rough ride there, Beverly worked very hard with Rick for a full hour. We then traveled by KATS to Heritage Place to visit Mother and have lunch with her. Everyone at Heritage Place was so happy to see Beverly and all commented on how wonderful she looked. We were even able to participate in the 100th birthday celebration of Marie, one of Mother's favorite residents at Heritage Place.
Beverly and Mother enjoyed a short nap in Mother's room before we called KATS again and rode to Dr. Hobbs office for her first appointment with him. She really appreciated the unhurried time he spent with her and is happy to have a local doctor supervising her care and medications. We called KATS - AGAIN - and waited for our return trip home. By the time we arrived at Beverly's house (4:30pm), she had spent seven hours traveling around and was almost too tired to hold herself up in her powerchair for exiting the KATS van and the drive into the front door. Once inside, she only wanted to rest, of course. This was such an exhausting day that we all decided she MUST have her own transportation. We are investigating a used van that will be wheelchair accessible, will give her a comfortable ride and be available when she wants to go anywhere. This way she can get to therapy easily, go out to eat, go to church! All when she's ready, of course.
We are continuing to see small improvements, and Beverly wants you to know how much she appreciates your love, concern, prayers, emails and MEALS!
