Today was a "lazy-weekend-day" Saturday at Jim Thorpe! Monday will officially be the end of the holiday season and we expect things to hop, skip and jump back into a routine of lots of therapy. We still do not know exactly when we will be returning to Tahlequah, but it is likely somewhere between one week and one month. Janie has prepared a list of "things that have to happen before leaving Jim Thorpe" and we will check them off one by one until we are totally comfortable that we have a safe, healthy, comfortable "accessible" environment for her back "home".
The most fun part of the day was at noon when Beverly and Pauletta surprised Janie and Gary by visiting unannounced! For the first time, they (Beverly and Pauletta) had trekked over to the main hospital cafeteria to break the monotony of lunch at the rehab dining room, and after cheeseburgers, onion rings and cherry pie, decided to go outside and enjoy the warm sunny weather! They soon realized that they could maneuver the sidewalks and in no time could be across the street at the RV park where Janie and Gary have their motor home! So Pauletta knocked on the door and quickly hid. When Janie opened the door.....Voila!! There sat Beverly with a big grin on her face! It was a fun surprise, but unfortunately we forgot to take pictures (totally unlike us!)
Thanks for checking in, and for being as positive as Beverly is about her future!
