All is well at Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation in Oklahoma City! Yesterday, Friday, brought more physical therapy with Paul using mat work and Jocelyn doing arm strength exercises. Beverly increased her wrist weights from half - pound to full pound on each arm, and did great! Then Pauletta worked with her on breathing exercises. Beverly now gets dressed in comfortable clothing every day (no more hospital gowns) and eats all three meals in the canteen with other patients. Thankfully, she has a good appetite! As with other hospitals, things are a bit quiet during the weekend, but we managed to tour the facility today, from the aquatic center to the horticulture center, with Beverly driving her wheelchair without a single incident or speeding ticket! It is remarkable how quickly she mastered the power chair.

Friday night was Beverly's first night keeping the PMV (Passy Muir Valve) in all night. The doctor said if all goes well over the weekend, they will "cap" the valve on Monday, and within 48 hours, we should be able to have the trach removed! This is a huge milestone and a testament to her continued recovery.

Beverly is enjoying Leonard's visit over the weekend! Thanks for checking in!
