On September 18, 2008, Beverly Kohl was volunteering on the Oklahoma Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Team in Baton Rouge, LA, following Hurricane Gustav, when she fainted after a long day’s work, and fell 5 feet to the ground below, leaving her paralyzed from the chest down.

Chris got in early and we were in Beverly's room a little before nine. She was so glad to see Chris! Chris brought her a crazy frog and the angel from her living room that was a gift from her grandchildren. She loves both gifts of course. She was also waiting until we were there to help her drink and eat some sherbet. Then she was ready for the BiPAP again. We let her know we were able to get into contact with Dr. Galdamez from Tahlequah City Hospital she was very glad to hear that he's eager to do whatever he can to help with her transfer to a Tulsa Hospital, even though he said the Tulsa hospitals don't normally receive transfers. We are expecting Beverly to be ready to transfer in a couple of weeks so we can all be working on this happening.
