From Pauletta

We are thrilled after our 9 pm visit with Deedy! When we walked in, her eyes were wide open! It is amazing how such a small thing can be so thrilling! She responded, and obviously knew we were there and seemed to understand what we were saying to her. When she saw Ken, she said so much with her eyes and we all started crying with joy. She is still on the ventilator, but she is initiating some of the breaths on her own! She seemed relaxed and not labored in her breathing. Apparently she is making a lot of urine and the lasix has helped the fluid....no mention at all of pneumonia concerns. Our hope and prayer is that she can actually talk to Ken before he has to leave on Sunday. More tomorrow! Overnight the nurses will give her special care and massages as they know she is an angel.
