On September 18, 2008, Beverly Kohl was volunteering on the Oklahoma Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Team in Baton Rouge, LA, following Hurricane Gustav, when she fainted after a long day’s work, and fell 5 feet to the ground below, leaving her paralyzed from the chest down.

The family waited around the hospital all afternoon hoping to speak with the doctor, but it seems they missed him. He had met with Beverly in the morning when the family couldn't be there. Beverly continues to improve and is awake and very alert, and understands what has happened and what needs to happen. Family is going back to visit at 10 pm and we will probably get another update in the morning.
