After a very long day, Pauletta went to her hotel to get some much needed rest. Thursday started with some stress as Beverly's heart rate climbed rapidly a couple of times in the morning. The medicines to get her heart rate under control left her groggy most of the day. Physical therapy was suspended but she did have some occupation therapy today. Beverly really enjoyed her visit from her niece Susan. Susan is really good at lip reading, but as it turned out Beverly was able to talk for 20 minutes while her cuff (around the trach) was deflated! This was in preparation for her speaking valve placement...soon we hope! Chris arrived this evening around 5:30 and will be with Beverly throughout the night and plans to stay about a week. Steve drove her to her new "home away from home" thanks to Sunnyside Baptist Church. We're hoping tomorrow will be a good day.
