As we've said before, the Hospital is no place to get any rest! Again last night, Beverly was awakened at 3am for a chest x-ray! She was sleeping fine up until then but was never able to get back to sleep! The doctor promised "no chest x-ray tonight" and we just hope he passed this along to the appropriate people! Her day was spent trying to catch a few winks in between the pampering from Janie, sitting up on the side of her bed and in the chair, and enjoying a visit with Linda Thornhill who was with her and the disaster relief team in Baton Rouge. Janie also helped Beverly with exercising her arms and shoulders and range of motion with her legs.

As you have read here, she is making improvement in the use of her arms and shoulders. It is slow and difficult, but it is progress in the right direction. Some of you have also asked about movement of her legs. Although she has the feeling of 'touch' over her entire body, she cannot generate any movement of her hips, legs or feet. She also cannot grasp or squeeze anything in her hands yet. We are certainly hoping and praying that when she finally gets to Rehab, with the right kind of therapy, she will begin to regain movement with the possibility of walking again. And who knows - if anyone can do it, BEVERLY CAN!!
