Deedy enjoyed a visit from Leonard today, hearing how things are going in Tahlequah, and he assured her Deacon was fine. Linda Thornhill, a member of the disaster team visited with Deedy again today and brought some gospel music CD's. Deedy enjoyed listening to these on a portable CD player, a gift from her friend Norma. Pauletta made sure Deedy was comfortable and massaged her feet and legs several times today. She also enjoyed sitting up a couple of hours. That hospital bed is getting old. When Janie arrived around 7pm, she brought a bedside shampoo blow-up basin and washed, massaged and dried Deedy's hair. Deedy said it felt great.
When I arrived this evening I thought her normal sparkle and quick smile were not the same as usual. I'm sure it's because she wants to get out of this bed and on to rehab.
She continues to look forward to the supportive emails she's receiving from family and friends across the US and even from Africa. They are a great reminder of how many people love her, miss her, are praying for her. They help make her days go by more quickly. Please continue to send these emails and cards since the highlight of her day is hearing from everyone! Keep them coming.
