Thanksgiving weekend

After 71 days in ICU, FINALLY Beverly was moved to a "regular" hospital room! The word came before 3pm this afternoon but there was some confusion about exactly which day it would happen. Finally around 6:30 all the orders were completed. Chris packed up all the "stuff" we have been accumulating over the last several weeks and got it to room 263 while the hospital personnel took care of moving Deedy. Of course everyone is thrilled with this progress, and yet the sisters are a bit nervous since the ratio of nurse to patient isn't as good as in ICU, and the monitors for vital signs are not used in these regular rooms. We also know that if the doctors didn't think she was ready, she wouldn't have been moved. We're really hoping it will be a quiet, peaceful, restful night. And we expect her progress to continue with each day that passes.

We have high hopes for the Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation Center but her acceptance there has not yet been confirmed. This is something the sisters will be working on next week. Since Deedy is no longer in critical care, we have been thinking of updating her condition every couple of days instead of daily. What do you think about this? Let us know.

What a Thanksgiving Weekend this has been!
