Beverly did great today sitting up in a chair for 2 hours with a view of the "pod" in ICU. Since she is still attached to the ventilator, we could not wheel her around the wing, but it was a nice change of scenery from a different view with no problems at all! Plus, it was the third day in a row with no heart issues, and another 15 hours breathing on her own today. We are making progress slowly but surely.


The doctor came into the room today while the speech therapist was deflating her trach cuff to allow her to speak. After a few seconds Dr. Kinasewitz said "Okay I am ready for a speech". Beverly soon answered "Okay....here's my speech...I WANT OUT OF HERE!" We all started laughing!

Chris returned to Tahlequah today for a short visit, and Janie and Gary arrived about 4:00 pm after two long days driving from Arizona. It's another SSC (sisters shift change) with Pauletta and Steve heading home to Chicago for a few days. Chris will be back Thursday! Thanks for checking in!
