Well, one day is up and one day is slightly down, but at least our steps forward outnumber our steps backward! There were really no steps back today, but Beverly was just so tired......due to lack of sleep last night. But we still had a good day, and Bill (the head of physical therapy and the person who has finally taken Beverly under his wing) was thrilled today with her progress, even in just one day! Her breathing volumes increase each time he works with her. He came twice today and dedicated all his efforts to her rehabilitation. He is genuinely dedicated to getting her off the ventilator, and is sort of a maverick in his ideas! We love the direction he is leading us in, and just know that he will get us to our goal soon!

Beverly had a wonderful, and unexpected, visit today from Chris and Bill Sallee. They were with her in Baton Rouge, and have been so supportive over the last two months! Steve and Pauletta met them as soon as they arrived in Baton Rouge on September 19. They live in Ketchum, and when they walked into the hospital room today, a huge smile crossed her face! Chris mentioned that she got to know Beverly so well it was as if she had known her forever! Chris and her husband Bill are becoming champions of her recovery, and through lots of prayer and other determined activities in her best interest, we are lucky to have them working for us!

Janie went to Tahlequah this morning to take Mom for a manicure and pedicure and do her normal seasonal clothing change in her closet. Mom is fine, and even if she doesn't totally understand what is happening with Beverly, always says " I am so glad you can be there to help Deedy." We are so lucky that at age 89 she is in such great physical health. Janie will return to Oklahoma City tomorrow afternoon, to give Chris a break. Pauletta and Steve have rented an apartment in Oklahoma City, and have settled in to their "home away from home". ( The weather is much better than their home in Chicago!)

We expect that tomorrow will bring a good day for Beverly, and with your continued prayers, we are confident that we will see continued improvement!
