3 visitors

Sunday afternoon we had a visit from three people from Community Church in Baton Rouge: Donna Guillot and her mother Georgia, and Nelson Aymond. This church, along with Florida Blvd. Baptist Church were helping with disaster relief. They just found out the Beverly was STILL in Baton Rouge. They had assumed she was long gone back to Oklahoma and came as soon as they heard she is still here. What wonderful people. They asked if there was anything they could do, and we gave the usual answer: No thanks - we think we have it covered for now. Then they began asking specifics, like are you remembering to eat, would you like a break and stay at our house, what about your laundry? They probably saw our eyes light up with the mention of laundry. We were planning on sneaking into the hotel we stayed in the first three weeks and use their laundry. They insisted on taking Janie and Chris's laundry and promised to bring it back early the next morning. Well, not only did we have our CLEAN and FOLDED laundry before 9am, they also put in a bag some home-cooked shrimp and crab soup and shrimp etouffee, bananas and other snacks. Who would have thought clean laundry and a home cooked meal could be such a delight!!!

They are taking Beverly for the pacemaker now - we'll post again soon.
