During our Saturday morning visit with Deedy we met the resident who was on duty when she first arrived in the emergency room on September 18th. He was glad to see her again and visited with us for a long time. She continued to rest comfortable throughout the day. Pauletta and Steve arrived in time for the 5pm visit. Pauletta brought several pictures that Deedy really enjoyed seeing. And she brought a picture of Deedy taken at the "capping ceremony" when she received her nurses cap in 1966. (Remember when nurses wore caps? And white hose and white shoes?) She was so beautiful in that picture! Pauletta taped this to the door to Deedy's room and we're sure all her nurses will enjoy seeing it. During the 9pm visit Deedy was very alert for most of the hour. Alison her nurse removed the neck brace (on the Doctor's approval) for at least half and hour and Deedy enjoyed this freedom from the discomfort of that brace. She also enjoyed massages from all of her sisters until it was time to leave.
