Finally someone other than family or medical personnel entered Beverly's hospital room. Four friends from Tahlequah and Broken Arrow stopped by for a few minutes and Beverly was glad to see them! Kay brought a large batch of brownies and we're enjoying them with the staff! Cindy said she tried but just couldn't stay away. She HAD to see her friend!!! Norma and Debbie brought Bev's car from Tahlequah for Janie to drive while she's here in Oklahoma. They also bought the best seller, "The Shack," on CD along with a portable CD player. Deedy tired quickly so the visits were short but enjoyable. Leonard arrived early this morning and Deedy enjoyed seeing him and talking about all the things at home that he is taking care of.
She is VERY PLEASED with her care here at the OU Medical Center. As an ICU patient, she is getting lots of one-on-one care. It is quiet here and she is resting. Last night, she had a couple of hours of sleep 2-3 times. So....she feels slightly more rested. I feel sure she will sleep well tonight. She hasn't been too impressed with the food yet, so she is faithful about drinking her ensure (CHOCOLATE ONLY!!). She has been on pressure support for several hours today. A resident doctor has seen her but we hope to see an intensive care doctor and a pulmonary doctor on Monday to discuss her plan for care and goals for moving her into rehabilitation.
