The surgery for the pacemaker went fine. It began at 1:30pm and ended at 2:40pm. The cardiologist came and talked to us and said everything went well. He said they would take her back to her same room and suggested we go eat some lunch since she should sleep for 2-3 hours. We returned to her room to get some things and when we started to leave, she was being rolled in - and her eyes were wide open and she had a little smile! We asked her if she slept at all and she said no - and she was not even sleepy then!
You're right - she asked for a coke and got it right away! Then she asked for her facial and is now resting (put probably not really asleep). Hopefully she'll sleep tonight. She certainly couldn't this morning. From 7am until 11am she was interrupted 12 times by staff! Who can rest through all this?
Chris spent much of Sunday night in Beverly's room and at 6:30am went upstairs to our "room" and tried to go to sleep, but construction was taking place right out side her room and even with ear plugs, she couldn't sleep through it!
On Tuesday, Oct. 21st Chris will be driving back to Oklahoma to check on Mother, and Janie's daughter Alison arrives around 4:30pm. She'll be here until Friday and her husband and two children are taking care of things while she's gone. The wonderful people at Florida Blvd. Baptist Church found a car for Janie to use until Pauletta and Steve arrive again. Thank you Gerald Wheeler!
