Chris and Janie had a good visit with Deedy this morning. She is still resting as comfortably as possible. The feeding tube in now directly into her stomach rather than her mouth. As a safety precaution, a filter has been placed in her leg to prevent any possible blood clots from moving to her heart or lungs. We read her the newest emails which she always enjoys so much. The respiratory therapist came while we were there and was happy that Deedy was again initiating breaths on her own. (Ken: the setting is again at "S". You know what that means.) Be assured that the ventilator automatically changes settings if she needs additional help breathing. This is the first step in weaning her off the ventilator again.

The surgeon, Dr. Mitchell is at the hospital today and we have been told we will receive a call this afternoon as soon as he can meet with us this afternoon.

We are progressing with the transfer to Tulsa, hopefully to "Continuous Care" at St. John's Hospital around the end of next week.
