Beverly didn't have a very good day on Friday. It started with a bad night Thursday. She couldn't sleep, was uncomfortable and asked the nurses for a couple of things that they never brought. They came in several times during the night which also kept her awake and she even tried to get Janie's attention but Janie slept right through it. (I'm so sorry Deedy!) She slept much of Friday, especially after 2 student nurses took 1 1/2 hours to bathe her! We requested no student nurses attend to her for now, especially since she is still on a ventilator. Friday evening she said that she is sure Saturday will be a better day. She wasn't much interested in the hospital meals she can now have, but did enjoy a "Mocha-ssippi" (a cold coffee drink we bought at the coffee house in the hospital).
Since the accident, the cardiologist has been concerned about her heart arrhythmia. He thought it was due to the trauma of the accident but since it is still present after a month, he feels strongly that she needs a pace maker. With her son Ken's approval, this will be performed on Monday around 1:00pm. We are hoping the pace maker will make her stronger and perhaps speed up her progress.
She says to tell all of you she misses you!
